Drip Irrigation

Drip irrigation is one of several water conservation methods available for agricultural producers today. Drip irrigation allows producers to apply moisture directly to plants' root zones underground, greatly reducing loss to evaporation and runoff. Learn more about drip irrigation here.

In 2011, we followed a corn field of David Carthel's, a corn producer in Parmer County, which was on drip irrigation. Follow along with this three part series to track the progress of his field on drip irrigation, while combating the state's hottest year on record.
